How acoustic glass works
Windows are typically the greatest source of noise penetration in a home. Acoustic laminated glass addresses this with an acoustic membrane bonded between two panes of glass that absorbs sound vibrations and prevents them from travelling through. Although it looks like a single pane, it's measurably quieter than standard glass, particularly effective at reducing the mid and high-frequency sounds that make traffic and voices most intrusive.
For bedrooms, living areas or home offices near busy roads or flight paths, the difference in day-to-day comfort can be substantial. Acoustic glass can also be combined with Low-E coatings where thermal performance is a priority.
